Analytics

After a variant publishes, WriteMars fetches performance numbers from the platform and rolls them up on the workspace Analytics page. Analytics respects the same visibility model as the rest of the product: private posts and personal account metrics stay private unless the viewer is allowed to see them.

The Analytics page

Open Analytics in the sidebar. Pick a date range from the preset menu or custom range picker. Presets include This Week, Last 7 Days, Past Week, This Month, Last 30 Days, Last Month, and Last 3 Months.

The page has three tabs:

  • Accounts Overview — workspace totals, follower trend, engagement trend, then platform and account sections.
  • Posts — a sortable table of variants published in the selected range.
  • Members — how each teammate is contributing over the range. See The Members tab.

The summary tiles compare the selected range to the immediately previous range of the same length. For example, Last 7 Days compares against the 7 days before that.

What's tracked

Each sync stores a snapshot per variant with: likes, comments, shares, impressions, reach, clicks, engagement rate, and platform-specific extras. The summary uses the latest snapshot for each published variant in the selected range.

The main metrics are:

MetricMeaning
ImpressionsHow many times the post was shown.
LikesPlatform likes or reactions.
CommentsReplies or comments on the post.
SharesShares, reposts, or reshares where the platform reports them.
ClicksClicks reported by the platform.
Engagement rateEngagements divided by impressions.
FollowersLatest known follower count for visible connected accounts.

Post analytics currently sync for supported LinkedIn and X (Twitter) variants.

Sync cadence

A background job runs every 15 minutes and decides per variant whether a new snapshot is due, on a tiered schedule that tracks how fast numbers move:

Post ageSnapshot frequency
Under 1 hourOne initial snapshot
1–48 hoursHourly
2–30 daysDaily
OlderWeekly

Follower counts on connected accounts are handled by a separate hourly job that refreshes each account at most once every 24 hours. Not every platform exposes follower counts through the APIs WriteMars uses, so some accounts may show --.

Per-variant performance

On the post detail page, each published variant shows a Performance section with impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares, clicks, and engagement rate, the time of the last sync, and a link to the live post. Metrics appear after the first analytics sync, and once at least two snapshots exist a small trend chart is drawn. Unpublished variants have no Performance section — metrics only sync after a variant is published.

The Members tab

The Members tab shows how each teammate is contributing over the selected range. It follows the same visibility model as the rest of the page — a member's private account activity only appears to viewers allowed to see it.

  • Stat tiles — workspace totals for Posts published, Auto-likes given, Engagements received, and Active members (anyone who published a post or gave an auto-like this period).
  • Leaderboard — members ranked by contribution. With three or more scorers, a This period's top 3 podium sits above the full All members list; below a handful of scorers the podium is replaced by a prompt to invite teammates.
  • Per-account usage — expand any member's row to break their numbers down by account, each with its Posts, Given, Received, Followers, and Impressions (X-only — LinkedIn doesn't expose impressions through its API). Accounts you can't see roll up into a private-account count so the totals still reconcile.
  • Publishing rhythm — a stacked bar chart of posts published per member across the range.
  • AI Insights — an on-demand panel. Click Generate insights for an AI read on the period's wins, opportunities, and risks; it never runs on its own, and only appears when AI is configured for the workspace.

Examples

Use Analytics differently depending on the question:

QuestionHow to answer it
Did this week's content beat last week?Choose This Week and read the comparison arrows on the summary tiles.
Which account is carrying performance?Open Accounts Overview, then compare platform sections and account cards.
Who on the team is contributing most?Open Members and read the leaderboard; expand a row to see it by account.
Which published post should we reuse?Open the Posts view, sort by impressions or engagement rate, then open the best-performing post.
Are private account metrics visible to everyone? No. Personal channel metrics follow account visibility.
